Since 2018, Natural Wines Oltrepò has been the kind of event you had to trek out of Milan for—a pilgrimage of sorts to the vine-cloaked hills of Oltrepò Pavese, where winemakers would pour, chat, and let you in on the secrets behind their cloudy, funky, delightfully drinkable bottles. This fall, though, the festivities come to the city. On October 5–6, 2025, the first-ever Natural Wines Oltrepò Urban Harvest takes over the Certosa District, a buzzy creative hub on Milan’s northwest periphery.
In addition, Natural Wines Oltrepò Urban Harvest is produced by Nema Creative, a Milan-based branding agency founded by Lucrezia Bosone–tune into the latest episode of the Milano Files podcast to hear my interview with Lucrezia to discover even more about this must-do Milan event. You can listen here or on all major streaming platforms like Apple, Spotify, iHeart, etc.
The concept was dreamed up by Jacopo Baruffaldi of Castello di Stefanago, who wanted to shine a light on the natural, artisanal, and biodynamic producers of Oltrepò Pavese and then invite their friends from all over Italy. The result? A lineup that’s more than just a wine fair. Think: a chance to taste hard-to-find bottles, shop your favorites, snack on next-level salumi and cheeses, and talk to the people who actually made what’s in your glass. Additionally, so you have even more options to pair with your natural wine, the teams from June Collective, Ape Cesare, and El Galactico are setting up food trucks and preparing food specifically for the occasion, which will be available for purchase. Natural Wines Oltrepò Urban Harvest is split into two distinct moods:
- Sunday, October 5, aka the people’s day: open to anyone with a palate (or just curiosity). Expect tasting tables, direct sales, meet-the-maker moments, and a curated food lineup from local restaurants and artisans.
- Monday, October 6, is targeted to industry insiders (but all are welcome): restaurateurs, sommeliers, distributors, and press. The day is structured around thematic talks, networking, and guided tastings designed to spark collaborations and deals.
It’s also worth noting that Natural Wines Oltrepo Urban Harvest is more than an event. It’s a philosophy: keep costs low for producers, keep items accessible for the public, and keep the vibe real. Its guiding values—sustainability, short supply chains, dialogue between countryside and city, inclusivity—are less talking points than lived practice. And the setting at Milano Certosa District, with its mix of industrial grit and cultural reinvention, couldn’t be more on point.
Tickets cost €20 if purchased online in advance (through Friday, October 3rd) and €25 at the door. Purchase them here.
