A few months ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Venissa in Venice, a wine resort, hotel and one-star Michelin restaurant on the island of Mazzorbo, which sits in the Northern part of the Venetian lagoon. It’s about 30 minutes from Venice proper via vaporetto but feels like a whole nother world. A wooden footbridge connects Mazzorbo to the beloved little island of Burano, known for its lacemakers, sandolo boats and vividly hued cottages. Also, I’d like to note that Burano is so much better than Murano and anyone would fare well to forego Murano altogether and head to this neck of the Venetian Lagoon.
I’m beyond delighted to have written about my stay at Venissa in Venice for Fathom, a travel website I adore, and wanted to share. If you’d like to check it out, click here. Thanks for reading!
