Thank you @clivati_1969 for kicking off my Saturday with your sweet and savory brunchy breakfast: pancakes, brioche con marmellata, mini maritozzo with stuffed with tuna cream and broccoli, ham and cheese croissant sandwich, fruit, and yogurt. 🥞🥝🥐 I’m saving the rose ginger tea for this evening.
My love for polenta knows no bounds, and you can s My love for polenta knows no bounds, and you can say the same about my love for lemons. This here is lemon polenta cake, recipe by the one and only @nigellalawson. I saw the vegan version in “Cook, Eat, Repeat,” and thought I’d give it a whirl, but I mistook the almond-milk plain soy yogurt, which I don’t have, for almond milk, which I do have. So, I went for the original instead and I’m obsessed — soft, delicate, crumbly, gritty (in the best way possible, thanks to the ground almonds!), golden, and ever-so lemony with just the right amount of zing. 🍋💛🍰 (And now I have a benchmark for when I make the vegan one!)

Welcoming the new year with lentils and cotechino, the latter of which I couldn’t resist topping with salsa verde (fatta in casa grazie alla ricetta di @lacucinaitaliana). 🪙💚Btw, ‘twas my first time making the sauce and I’m quite pleased that I got that liquidy-solid texture right. 💪 Oxymoronic, I know, but if you know the sauce, you know what I mean. 🥳
